Genre Electronic books.
Contents PEM fuel cell fundamentals -- Design and fabrication of PEM cell MEA, single cell, and stack -- Techniques for PEM fuel cell testing and diagnosis -- The effects of temperature on PEM fuel cell kinetics and performance -- Membrane/Ionomer proton conductivity measurements -- Hydrogen crossover -- Fuel cell open circuit voltage -- Relative humidity (RH) effects on PEM fuel cells -- Pressure effects on PEM fuel cell performance -- High-temperature PEM fuel cells -- Fuel cell degradation and failure analysis -- Electrochemical half-cells for evaluating PEM fuel cell catalysts and catalyst layers.
Summary Proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells are currently considered the most promising clean energy-converting devices for stationary, transportation, and micro-power applications due to their high energy density, high efficiency, and environmental friendliness. Although tremendous efforts have been exerted worldwide in the development of PEM fuel cells, and much progress has been made towards their commercialization, two major technical obstacles still hinder the commercialization of PEM fuel cells, namely high cost and low reliability/durability.
